This page sets out what the university, across all its colleges and units, is working towards: a vision of what it aspires to be, a mission that describes how it will get there, and objectives that turn both into measurable work. All three are reviewed periodically in the light of self-assessment and quality-assurance requirements.
Vision
A rigorous private university whose graduates are known for academic competence, professional skill and integrity, and whose teaching and research contribute to the development of Iraqi society.
Mission
To provide high-quality, in-person university education in engineering technology, science and education, in line with the standards of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Bologna Process — education that joins knowledge to practice, encourages research and critical thinking, and connects students with the labour market and the needs of their community, in an environment that safeguards academic and human values.
Objectives
- Prepare graduates with the knowledge and practical skills their professions demand and the labour market needs.
- Apply quality-assurance and university-performance standards to programmes, teaching and administration, and prepare for academic accreditation.
- Provide modern laboratories, workshops and learning spaces that support active learning and make use of digital tools.
- Develop the academic, pedagogical and research capacity of the faculty.
- Encourage applied research on issues that matter to society, published in reputable journals.
- Serve the community through continuing education, expert advice and outreach.
- Build academic cooperation with universities and institutions in Iraq and abroad.
- Embed good governance, transparency and a culture of continuous improvement.
Values
- Heritage: pride in the Arabic language and in Iraq’s scholarly and cultural legacy.
- Rigor: demanding academic standards and integrity in teaching and research.
- Modernity: keeping pace with science, technology and current teaching methods.
- Responsibility: towards our students, society and the environment.
- Fairness and equal opportunity: for every student and member of staff, without discrimination.
